    AlRashid: the annual trade between Saudi Arabia and Canada amounted to 3.4 billion dollars

    Asharqia Chamber Chairman, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Rashid confirmed implementing a number of giant industrial projects in the region which underlines the emergence of economic activity and occupation among the Kingdom regions.
     
    Al-Rashid During his meeting with the Canadian delegation led by (Brian Mulroney) Former Prime Minister of Canada on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Chamber headquarter in Dammam in the presence of a number of Saudi businessmen, referring that most of the projects of Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries and petrochemical plants in Jubail Industrial City is located in the Eastern Region as well as the new plants and the second city of Jubail, which is currently under development in addition to the new city that are built now confirming that quarter of world reserves of oil and gas lies in the Kingdom.
     
    He explained that the minerals city that are being developed in the area of Ras Al-Zour is expected to attract billions of dollars of foreign investment, adding that the cooperation recently between the Kingdom and Canada, including mining, education, stressing that there are Canadian companies with expertise in mining could benefit and take advantage of the Saudi companies, pointing that Saudi Arabia has large reserves of mineral resources such as gold, bauxite and other minerals.
     
    He said that Canada is now considered one of the best countries that provide an excellent educational service especially for those wishing to pursue graduate studies, as 10 thousand Saudi students are currently studying in Canada, including 800 students majored in medicine, adding that there is possibility to increase this number.

    Explaining that a number of Canadian giant companies recorded very active performance in the Saudi market such as Bell Canada and snc Canam, adding that Canadian company Canam, in cooperation with Al Zamil Industrial Investment Company based in Dammam, created a joint venture in the eastern region.

    For his part, (Brian Mulroney) of former Prime Minister of Canada said the kingdom is witnessing a major economic transition which has been shown through the well preparation to attain the global challenges, expressing his admiration for the ideology carried by Saudi Businessmen in the Kingdom.
     
    It's mentioned that (Mulroney) has met with a group of businessmen in the eastern region at the Eastern Chamber, accompanied by a trade mission of 8 members representing major Canadian companies operating in the areas of finance, corporate governance, and compliance with regulations, private finance and banking investment.
